Admissions

Students capable of succeeding in a post-secondary preparatory program are best suited to the academic course of studies available at St. Andrew's Regional High School. Admission, however, is based not only on an applicant's academic potential, but also on his or her character and eagerness to participate actively in all areas of the school's program, including religious education, leadership and service, the fine arts and athletics. Students wishing to apply to St. Andrew's Regional High School must demonstrate a willingness to attend, must show a commitment to their academic studies, and must demonstrate a satisfactory level of motivation and good citizenship.

Generally, admission is in keeping with the Island Catholic Schools Admission Policy.

Rationale

The Island Catholic Schools were established to provide an education for the Catholic students residing in the Diocese of Victoria. Due to limited enrolments in Catholic schools it is necessary to ensure that all Catholics have the opportunity to enroll their children in a Catholic school before consideration is given to children of other denominations. Priority will be given to Catholic students seeking admission to Catholic schools. Under certain conditions students of other faiths/denominations may be admitted.

Generally, students must maintain average grades and pass all their subjects in order to remain at St. Andrew's from year to year. They must also demonstrate appropriate levels of motivation and good citizenship. Students not meeting this standard may be considered by the administration for re-admission under special consideration on an individual basis.

St. Andrew's Regional High School accepts a number of international students each year.

Testimonials

This is how I explain what religion at this school teaches me. Sure I learn the history and analyze the Bible, but I also have been forming a set of morals and values that will go with me for the rest of my life. They are the foundation of who I am.
