Diocesan Programs/Activities
We are so very blessed to be in a diocese where youth ministry is alive and kicking. Did you go to the “Perfect Love” Conference in October? Were you at Camp Homewood in February? Did you just survive the Lenten ThinkFast? The good people of our parishes continue to be moved by the Spirit, organizing events that speak to the young Church of today.
Diocesan Youth Conference
The theme this year is “From the Inside Out.” The keynote speaker will be Father Tony Ricard from New Orleans: a man known all over the world for his energy and his inspiring messages. He’ll make you laugh out loud, and then stop in your tracks to think about the absolute power of God’s love. And you do not want to miss a priest who can get a crowd jumping up to the amazing Gospel sounds of “The God in Me.”
- Where: St. Andrew’s High School, Victoria
- When: May 14-16, 2010

Diocesan Summer Camp
Diocesan Camp experience is an opportunity to engage, connect and grow. Nestled in the pristine beauty of 251 acres of forest, mountain and lake, Victoria Diocese Youth Camps minister to youth from grades 5 through 12. Camp adventures are designed to encourage growth of the whole person. Outdoor activities, games and adventure outings, group talks and reflection time, campfires, personal and team challenges, working, playing and praying together, and celebrating Mass in the glorious quiet of the forest combine to provide an experience campers remember for a lifetime.

- When: Feb. 27, 2010 (11:00am) to Feb. 28, 2010 (12:00pm) - This event has already occurred.
Think Fast 2010 was held at St. Andrew’s Elementary School Gym in February 2010. A simple meal was served following to break the fast.
While the students fast they learn about why there is poverty in different countries around the world and about global justice issues, play simulation games, participate in mass/liturgy, and raise money for Development and Peace through pledges. This is a fun way to find out how you can make a difference in the world.
