Volunteers

At St. Andrew's Regional High School it is recognized that volunteers can make a significant contribution to the local school community in many ways:

  • classroom material preparation
  • instructional assistance
  • supervising groups of students
  • sharing talents and skills

Most of these volunteers are parents but on occasion other members of the community offer their services. In order that the safety of students is ensured and that the best interest of the school are served, procedures have been established for the recruiting, training and supervision of volunteers.

Procedures

  1. Application
All volunteers must complete an application package which provides the following information:
    • Personal data
    • Related training/experience
    • Responsible Ministry and Safe Environment Policy
  2. Criminal Record Check
Once the the package has been received by the office, the applicant is given a letter which provides information on how to apply for a CRC online.  After the office receives clearance,  applicants will be notified that they may begin to volunteer.  A CRC is valid for 5 years.

  3. Supervision of Volunteers
The organizing Teacher will be responsible for supervision of volunteers in the classroom.  Other volunteers will report to immediate superior who will be designated by the Principal.

Testimonials
This is how I explain what religion at this school teaches me. Sure I learn the history and analyze the Bible, but I also have been forming a set of morals and values that will go with me for the rest of my life. They are the foundation of who I am.
